POP-UP CARD MAKING WORKSHOP
WHAT'S ON PROGRAMME CHARLESTON TRUST / APRIL 2014 / 20 PARTICIPANTS (4-12 YEARS) This introductory pop-up card making workshop took place in The Garage and Pottery at Charleston Trust in Firle and was part of Charleston's What's On Programme of events. 20 Participants were shown various pop-up techniques used in several example books, before being instructed on how to construct a pop-up card using a simple paper hinge I had developed. Pop-up cards with up to four layers could be constructed without the use of scissors. Exploring dioramas and using the step fold pop-up allowed participants to build up wonderfully complex 3D collages within a scallop-edged card format. Participants were introduced to all the tools and materials used so they could each create their own cards at home. Photographs by Lee Shearman |
